Create your own Harry Potter inspired wands!

Protip: We recommend having a parent around to supervise and to also check for allergies beforehand, if you decide to paint without gloves.

Step 1:

We used a local carpenter to carve our wands but if you want to make them yourself here’s how:

For a simple wand we recommend finding a sturdy stick or twig that measures in length from the tip of your middle-finger to your elbow. Carefully scrape off the bark to your liking and round off the ends of the wand with a cutting knife – Be careful not to cut yourself with this part!

For a more intricate wand, we recommend purchasing a wooden dowel at least ½ inch in diameter. Using a carving knife or any carving tools of choice, sculpt your wand into the desired shape. This can include spirals, animals, leaves etc. Be sure to have a picture for reference while sculpting.

Step 2:

Choose one of our ProNature Outdoor Wood Sealers to paint your wand, you can even mix together any leftover tins you may have lying around. From there, paint your wand thoroughly making sure to cover every part of the wand. If necessary, apply a second coat. Leave to dry and voila! You are ready to cast some spells!

When you are done, simply wipe clean your hands and equipment with ProNature Plant Turpentine!

Its all about the fun in the end! The children got to make their own wands and play with them!

Be sure to share your creations with us by tagging us on Facebook or Instagram. Happy wizarding!
