Area of Use

Where to use ProNature Shellac Polish?

Use ProNature Shellac Polish for the universal treatment of living-room, bedroom and playroom furniture, wooden ceilings, wall panelling, railings as well as all other interior wood fittings.

General Information

Shellac is derived from deposits left by a lice variety. The word "lac" stems from the Indian "lacsa", which means hundreds of thousands. Hundreds of thousands of lice cover branches of trees with a centimetre thick coating, which is harvested and cleaned.

Shellac is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries as a coating for sweets and pills, as well as in the cosmetic industry, where it is used in hair spray, shampoos and nail varnishes.
In the ProNature range it forms an important part of materials used for the treatment of toys, furniture, wooden wall panels and flooring.

Fermentation Alcohol

Also known as ethanol, fermentation alcohol is a pure denatured alcohol (98%) not suitable for human consumption. It is derived from South African sugar-cane by a process of fermentation, and it used as a solvent for a variety of natural resins in several ProNature products.

Fermentation alcohol is a water-miscible, highly flammable liquid, with a flash-point below 21°C. It is not harmful to the skin, and is widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries for products such as deodorants and perfumes.

If priming was done with ProNature Shellac Polish, it is also possible to use ProNature Wax Balm as a top coat.
