EnviroTouch's ProNature Paints - Truly Eco-Friendly!

EnviroTouch was founded by the German paint technician Bernhard Lembeck in 1997. After working for more than 20 years in the conventional paint industry (BASF, Dulux, Hoechst) he decided to go back to South Africa to establish a new range of natural wood and wall finishes. His research confirmed that natural paints are not just eco-friendly and non-toxic but also had this technology proven itself for hundreds of years. With decades of experience and practical knowledge together with input from a large variety of experts from some of the biggest names in the industry, he developed and established EnviroTouch's specially formulated and researched ProNature Range of Wall Paints and Wood Finishes, which offer the purest, environmentally sound alternatives to modern-day synthetic living.

The production of natural paints entails the following:

  • Abandonment of crude oil based raw materials
  • Unobjectionable raw materials and their compositions for all living creatures
  • Problem-free integration of raw materials and their compositions into the natural cycle
  • Raw materials from sustainable resources are preferred to synthetics
  • The production and the growing and winning of raw materials as well as the complete coating must follow ecologically sound principles -
  • All used raw materials must be declared in simple form on the product label


Things you will NOT find in our paints that are common in many paints (even in low VOC paints):

  • Formaldehyde emitting biocides (the standard) or any other biocides.
  • Toxic Petrochemical Solvents.
  • Acrylic Polymers with TEA and N-Methyl Pyrrolidone – may negatively influence foetal development / pregnancy. Have low odour in water-borne paint.
  • Ethylene Glycol derivatives, sweet smelling poisons. We consider them dangerous. Found in most water and solvent-based paints.
  • Alkyl phenol ethoxylates (a.k.a. APES - endocrine disruptors a known problem for human and aquatic life worldwide), found in many water-borne paints.
  • Isoaliphatics (mineral spirits in disguise - Isopar is an Exxon brand name for petro-chemical based iso-paraffinic solvents)
  • Oximes (e.g., 2-Butanonoxim – common anti-skinning agent in oil based paints that is not necessary to make quality products.
  • Cement

Proudly, EnviroTouch ProNature coatings and treatments do not contain any ingredients with harmful emissions such as aromatic solvents for formaldehyde. We believe in our products as much as we believe in preserving life and our environment.
